She married George Elmo Glendening (DOB Abt. 1912 in KS; DOD 12/30/1963 in Scottsdale, Maricopa County, AZ). He and Robbye lived in a home 40 miles from Tucson in the woods without utilities. For her to have been such a society girl (she was always in the newspaper), it's surprising that she and her family lived for years without indoor water or electricity. But her father had been a lumberman. She had lived near lumber mills so maybe it's not surprising. They had 2 sons: Eber George Glendening (DOB 12/16/1934 in AZ; DOD 4/23/1997 in Tucson, Pima County, AZ, married Lorna Savard) and Michael James Glendening (DOB 1940 in AZ; DOD ? in ? , married Suzanne Wilber). J.F. Wilder enjoyed being a member of fraternal and civic organizations. He must have been a very active and busy man! He was in the newspaper all the time concerning his lumber business, the lumber industry, political activities (on behalf of his businesses), and his continuous civic activities. He had some tragic events around 1907-1908 that he had to overcome. One of his lumber mills burnt down. A typhoon/cyclone/tornado (it was described all three ways in the newspapers) hit, destroying property and killing people. Some accidents at his lumber mill killed some workers. And he killed a man who attacked him in his office. That must have been a very stressful year for him. I found him to be a very interesting person to read about.

Around 1907, he built a home at 801 W. Pine Street, Hattiesburg, Forrest County, MS. When I tried to find 801 West Pine Street, this beautiful old house came up. So, unless the house numbers got changed over the years, this would be the house that John F. Wilder built and lived in.

Now this one got me. I had never heard of the Hoo-Hoos and the names is so funny that I had to stop and look it up and I got this info from their website. It is a fraternal order. The International Order of Hoo-Hoo: Fraternal Order of the Forest Products Industry, is one of the longest standing industry service clubs in the world. Hoo-Hoo got its start in 1892 in the small town of Gurdon, AR. The founders, stranded by a delayed train, decided to form a nationwide lumberman’s association with a single aim to foster the health, happiness and long life of its members. They would bring together the diverse aspects of the lumber industry in a common group guided by goodwill and fellowship. With a focus networking—across all aspects of forest business—Hoo-Hoos would abide by the “Golden Rule”—nine fundamental values for day-to-day personal and business interactions. Nine is a magic number for Hoo-Hoo. Why? Because cats have nine lives. Why cats? Because the ceremony whereby new members are initiated into the club is called a conCATenation, derived from the Latin concatenare, which means to link together and treat individual entities as one. As such, the Hoo-Hoo emblem is a black cat with a tail curled into the number nine! The name Hoo-Hoo came from a nickname given to a lumberman back in the late 1800’s due to an unruly tuft of his hair! Coined by founder Bolling Johnson, it became a word used at the time to describe anything out-of-the-usual.

J.F. Wilder killed a man who supposedly confronted him in his office, demanded money he claimed Wilder owed him and attacked him. One of the articles says Booth was shot twice, in the chest and in the face. He had a gun but was killed before he got a shot off. There was evidently no record of J.F. Wilder owing the man money but there is also no record if he did owe the money. Was it really self defence? J.F. Wilder was a philanthropist and highly regarded in Mississippi so it's not hard to imagine that the story was accepted at face value because it's expedient. On the other hand, the man did come a long way, had a gun and no money in his pocket. So maybe he was a danger to John F. Wilder. Interesting story.
