Lena B. Gault and John Harrison Spears and Sibbie Gault

Lena and Sibbie Gault are not in Stan's direct line. They would be Stan's first cousin 4 times removed. Their common ancestor would be Thomas Norman Kelly, Sr.. But if you have any corrections or can give me any of the missing pieces of information, please contact me at Mom25dogs@gmail.com

Let's look at Sibbie Gault first.
Sibbie Gault was born 8/8/1881 in Pinckney Township, Union County, SC to Thomas Norman Kelly (DOB 7/2/1826 in Alston, Fairfield County, SC) and Mary "Polly" Elizabeth Comer (DOB 7/12/1846 in Alston, Fairfield County, SC; DOD 4/18/1925 in Pinckneyville, Union County, SC). She was the 9th of 12 children.

March 19. - Last week was one of good fortune and pleasure to the writer.
On Wednesday at 7 p.m. it was my pleasure to unite in the bonds of matrimony Mr. J.H. Spears and Miss Lena Kelly. Mr. Spears is one of our best citizens - successful in business and a thorough Christian gentleman. Miss Lena Kelly is one of our most amiable and beautiful young ladies. They have the congratulations and best wishes of their many friends. On Thursday at the home of the groom several friends and relatives among whom was the writer, met and spent several hours pleasantly. A most elegant and sumptuous dinner was enjoyed by us all.
Shortly after dinner I was informed that a four horse wagon, loaded with corn and fodder, was on hand to be disposed of by the writer. I went at once to attend to it. Brother Felix Whitlock was the donor. It is not necessary for me to say that I was more pleased with the present. Such a valuable gift would under any circumstances produce profound gratitude on the part of the receiver and especially so during these hard times. Brother Whitlock is an extensive and progressive farmer and I understand has several hundred bushels of corn and bundles of fodder for sale at present.
May God bless him and his abundantly this year, spiritually and temporarily.
W.E.G. Humphries

A Very Sad Death
Mrs. J.H. Spears Breathed Her Last Monday Night at 11 o'clock A peculiarly sad death was that of Mrs. J.H. Spears which occurred at her home on South Street in this city about 11 o'clock Monday night. She became the mother of a child Sunday morning, which child only lived about four hours. Mrs. Spears was sick about one week before she died, and her illness from the beginning until the end was quite severe and gave faint hope of her recovery. She was the picture of robust health before she became ill and no one who saw and knew her would for a moment think that she would so soon be among the dead. Truly 'in the midst of life we are in death."
Mrs. Spears was, before her marriage, Miss Lena Kelly, a daughter of the late Mr. Thomas Kelly, who lived near Kelton in this county. Mrs. Spears was a good woman and all who knew her liked her. She was the second wife of Mr. John H. Spears and was a good wife, kind and a good stepmother to the children of Mr. Spears, which is always an evidence of a truly good woman. She leaves two children, husband, mother, brothers, sisters, and a great many friends to mourn her untimely death.
In the bloom and prime of her young life of an affectionate and devoted husband, mother and stepmother of clinging, trusting, confiding, loving, bright and interesting children, a kind and thoughtful friend and neighbor, she was taken from this earthly paradise to that great world of eternal bliss.
The funeral and burial services were conducted by her pastor Rev. L.M. Rice and the interment in the city cemetery at 3 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.
