"Horsefeathers"

Horse Feathers or horsefeathers - Means rubbish, nonsense, silly. It is attributed to comic-strip artist and writer, William Morgan "Billy" de Beck who did the Barney Google comic strip which frequently featured dialogues with a horse - his sidekick Spark Plug.

He also created a short cartoon film called Horsefeathers, which appeared in US cinemas in 1928. There was a film by the Marx Brothers' in 1932 called Horse Feathers, in which Professor Quincy Adams Wagstaff (Groucho Marx) is unwisely appointed as the president of Huxley College.
