My New Year's Resolutions

I'm not good at the resolution thing. But there are some things that I would like to see this year besides the given of health, wealth and protection for all my family members.

1) I want Stan and I to be able to go visit Jenny, Kyle and Brett after the new baby is born.

2) Take at least one in-depth Bible study course. I'm involved in a Bible Study group and so I think I can do this one. I love studying the Bible and my goal is to do at least one really good study per year.

3) I would like to get all our windows replaced this year. We've done 3 and that's a start. But there are 10 more normal windows and then our fish bowl window (floor to ceiling bay window in the kitchen).

4) That I will be able to do my Spring Cleaning. This is such a big project and it takes me days, if not weeks, because of my health.

5) Find and feel at home in a church. I've found out that I go to a church a few times and, even though Ive found a couple that I like, I'm scared to commit, afraid to trust again. I end up drawing back.

6) Go to the gym more regularly. I've done pretty good and it's been the best thing I've ever tried for my Fibromyalgia but I still battle with pain and aching and exercise does make it worse. But, when I make myself do it anyway, I get other health benefits which are good for me. If you have FMS, I encourage you to force yourself to do physical therapy. Of course, those of you in reasonably good health would laugh at how little I can do without it bringing on a full FMS attack. I have to be so careful. I may feel like I can do more but I have to restrain myself or I will bring on an attack. Starting very slowly and building up slowly is the trick. I had a full attack throughout most of the last 2 weeks so I haven't been able to go but twice. So today, when I went back I only did 15 mins. Tomorrow, if I'm able to go, I will do 20 mins. Then 25 minutes. If you are just starting, do what I did when I first started, by doing 10 mins, then 12 mins, then 15 mins. It took me 5 weeks building up slowly to get me into a decent shape FOR ME! That doesn't mean I was able to follow the gym staff around and do what they do or what a healthy person would do but good enough for me to walk without gasping for breath, carry my groceries in from the car, etc. Go slowly and easily but steadily increasing. So I want to get back into that. I've been doing 1 1/2 yrs now and still can't finish a cardio water aerobics class but at least I'm moving, stretching, and makes me feel accomplished. I really like water aerobics for FMS. I think what might have contributed to my last attack was trying to do a low impact aerobics class (not in the pool). I'm going to try to continue doing some of that once a week so I can condition myself to be able to do it without it causing an attack.

7) That Stan and I will be able to go to Charleston to see Aaron's Ring Ceremony at The Citadel next Fall.

8) That our nephew, Evans, will be 100% in 2012. He is still recuperating from his 30' fall onto concrete when the scissor lift he was working in toppled.

9) Get the dogs all vetted, vaccinated, dentals. For 5 dogs, that's a big expense but it has to be done.

10) Finish writing another genealogy book. I got one under my belt last year so I'm looking to do another one.

I've come up with 10 things that I'd like to see happen in 2012. But rather than just wishing them to happen or willing myself to complete goals, I'm going to be praying. I believe God knows me and knows my heart and will do what is best for me. So I will pray about these and I will accept His Will. I will do what I can but I trust 2012 in God's Hands!
