I just finished The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown. A great read. With the caveat that just because the FreeMasons are mysterious and woo-woo, doesn't make the "apotheosis" (man can become God) believable. As a Christian, I believe that God is God and we are made in His image but not Co-Creator Gods. I know that God created Adam and Eve to be His Creatures but immortal, sinless creatures. Unfortunately, satan appealed to their pride and told them they could be like God if they would disobey God and eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. We are a fallen race now and Jesus came to save us so that we could once again be in a relationship with God. But we still struggle with our fallen nature until we die and then we will be set free from our sinful flesh and become, once again, what God created us to be. If you can understand this, then it's a great read. If you know your beliefs and are strong in your faith, this is a good fiction book to read. I enjoyed it and couldn't put it down.
This is a satellite picture of Washington, DC. On the right with the blue/green roof is the Capitol. Straight in front of it is the long Mall. The Smithsonian Buildings line the Mall. At the end of the Mall is a large park with the Washington Monument. Then is the long rectangular Reflecting Pool and the Lincoln Memorial is on the left. The river is the Potomac River. There is a lake with a circular buidling on the shore which is the Jefferson Memorial. By the way, all the black dots (looks like black ants around the Capitol, through the Mall, around the Washington Monument etc) are crowds of people for Obama's Inauguration. Just think, all those people could be seen from a satellite. Fascinating. Wouldn't George Washington be awed!
The United State Capitol building. The House of Representatives is on one side of the Rotunda and the Senate is on the other side.
Robert Langdon is called by Peter Solomon's assistant and asked to give the keynote address in the National Statuary Hall for a Smithsonian Gala. He jumps on a plane and is there the next day only to walk into the U.S. Capitol (where the National Statuary Hall was the original House of Representatives Chamber) and into a mystery.

A severed hand is found in the Rotunda pointing upward.
The painting of George Washington that is in the peak of the Rotunda called the Apotheosis of George Washington.
Part of the frieze around the Rotunda.
One of the large murals in the Rotunda is of George Washington setting the cornerstone of the U.S. Capitol in full Masonic regalia.
Meanwhile, Peter Solomon has been kidnapped and his sister, Katherine Solomon goes into work at the Smithsonian Museum Support Center (SMSC) where she has a lab to study noetic science.
She and Robert have to solve some mysterious Freemason symbols and save Peter Solomon's life.
