Hash Night

Stan had his foot operated on just 10 days ago. But he wasn't going to let that stop him from cooking his 4th of July hash or grilling. Luke and Ronnie helped him! I pulled an office chair outside for him to sit in and wheel around in. His foot hurt him but he stayed with it.

Boston Butts, BBQ Ribs, BBQ Chicken Wings in the big grill!

Beef Hash over the fire!

It was smelling so good that our neighbors came over and asked to buy some. That made Stan's day!

Stan was playing Southern Rock on his little player in the shop while we all sat around and talked and played with Brett. Elaine said we were imprinting sights and sounds and smells and tastes on Brett. We gave him a taste of BBQ sauce on a chicken wing, lemonade, sweet tea, dill pickles. The cooking was the smell and the music and talk were the sounds. He won't remember this cookout but he will unconsciously like BBQ, sweet tea, the smell of woodfire cooking and family sitting around shooting the breeze on a southern night.

Jenny's been working out a lot since Kyle is in Iraq. She wants him to be proud of her when he gets home! Look at her muscles!

Here is Brett asleep. Elaine was the one who finally got him to sleep.
