My House Decorated For Fall

Here are photos of how I decorated for Fall this year.
From Home Decorating

I found this little squirrel last year at an antique mall. I put some acorns around him.

My vintage thermos collection makes good Autumn decorating because it makes me think of tailgating, hot chocolate, coffee, hot tea, etc.

Fall decorating includes Fall picnics like tailgating to football games, a picnic when you go pumpkin and apple picking, etc.

My Aunt Ruth painted this mailbox for my Dad for a Christmas present one year. I keep it in my entrance hall and replace the flowers for every season. I love this antique gold frame. I like the juxtaposition of the mailbox with it's primitive scene next to this very formal gold frame.

Fall Decorating

I got online this morning and found these photos of some beautiful and ingenious Fall decorating. I love to decorate for the seasons and decorating for Autumn is especially fun with all the bright colors.

This was such a cute idea! She made a "tree" with twigs from the yard. Then she stuck them in a clay pot and decorated it with photos of her children in costumes. Another idea would be to spray paint the twigs black. Instead of using ribbon to tie them on, maybe use spray painted black small clothes pins or use pearl topped dress pins or white paper clips, etc.

This pretty arrangement uses pearls. I thought that was unique and a very pretty result.

I really loved this arrangement. It's so unusual and feminine.

What a beautiful, bright window box arrangement!

Very elegant dried hydrangea arrangement.

Fall is the time of harvest. This arrangement makes you think of taking a basket or pan out to the garden and picking the last of the vegetables!

A nice idea! Using polished stones, candle and leaves on a cakestand.

Autumn decorating really revolves around a fireplace and table. Those two things just make you think of Fall, harvest, Thanksgiving, etc.

This is a modern arrangement for Fall. I like how the vase shape mimics a gourd.

This photo and arrangement just makes me feel cozy!

Don't you think Fall and sweaters when you see this arrangement?

Get your porch decorated too!
Notice the Rooster on top?

Looks like a hot chocolate spot to me!

This gold frame was used as a tray and all she did was put an orange paper in the frame. Then she used silver goblets and filled them with vintage jewelry. Great look and great idea!

I have seen these leaf dishes and liked them but couldn't see a way to use them that really showed them off. But this decorator used them perfectly! They really show off.

Uncle Glenn's BBQ Dinner

My Uncle Glenn is a SC Senator and is running again this November. Whenever he runs he gives a big BBQ dinner to thank people for their help and votes. It's a great time. Last night he had some wonderful entertainment: A great young singer, a famous guitar/banjo group (known as one of the fastest banjo player in the world and the young guitar player was also one of the fastest!), etc. I had to leave before all the acts went on because I can't drive at night (I can't see good). I hated to miss it because the singer and the banjo and guitar players were wonderful! He had Mutt's BBQ cater and we had great minced pork & chicken with different sauces, baked beans, sweet potato casserole, slaw and, of course, Krispy Kreme donuts (Uncle Glenn owns Spartanburg's Krispy Kreme). It was delicious. He gave away a lot of door prizes and he had quite a crowd!
