Zadok Coan was born in 1845 in SC to
John Coan and
? Sherbert .
John Coan was born in 1816 in Ireland and died 3/15/1893 in Spartanburg, Spartanburg County, SC. It's probable that
John Cowan married
unknown Sherbert or Shurbutt and had 3 children with her before she died possibly in childbirth. Zadok Coan,
Nancy Coan and Cansadia Coan.

Union County, SC Published by Broad River Basin Historical Society on 3/1993, Pg 57, Dwelling 470, Head is "

At this point, I believe that
John Coan had married one of
Zadok Sherbert's daughters. They had 3 children and she probably died in childbirth. The children went to live with their mother's father until
John Coan could get his life back. It seems he was living and working in a nearby farm.
John Coan married

Susan Ann "Susana, Susannah" Quinn was born in May, 1848 in SC to
James W. Quinn (DOB 9/27/1824 in SC; DOD after 1900 in Spartanburg County, SC) and

J.W. Quinn and his wife,
Agness M. Quinn, are buried at Zion Hill Baptist Church, 2817 E. Main St. (Hwy 29), Spartanburg, SC, 29307. I think
Agness died first because the single tombstone has both her birth and death dates but only
J.W.'s birth date. For some reason they didn't have his death date engraved when he died.

At
first I couldn't find a death certificate for Susan Ann Quinn Coan Fowler. But I
found out she married for a 3rd time. According to her brother, Rev. James Wofford Quinn's (DOB
12/25/1854 in Fairfield County, SC; DOD 10/10/1936 in Cherokee Springs,
Spartanburg County, SC) obituary, she was "Mrs. Susan Littlejohn". She was married
to M. Littlejohn when she
died.
Rev.
James W. Quinn
(this James W. Quinn was the brother
of Susan Ann Quinn Coan Fowler
Littlejohn) there is a grave site at Cannon's Camp Ground United Methodist
Church. for Rev. James W. Quinn,
born December 25, 1855 and dec'd Oct.
10, 1936. His obituary states that he lived in Cherokee Springs. He was not a member of
Cannon's Camp Ground United Methodist
Church and I cannot read the name of the church he belonged to. He was
survived by his wife, Jane McAbee
Quinn and children:
C.W.
Quinn, Travelers Rest;
Claude Quinn, Cross Anchor;
W. C. Quinn, Cross Anchor;
B.E. Quinn and Mrs. C.B. Huggins, Spartanburg, S.C.
also, Mrs. J.D. O'Sullivan of Cherokee Springs

states he had 48 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Following grandsons

Then
I was able to find her death certificate.
