I found an application for a widow's pension based on William's service in the Confederate States of America Army. According to this pension application made in October 1919, he served in company A, Holcomb Legion under Captain Anderson. But her application was denied because they couldn't find a record of William Henry Wilder having served in Holcombe's Legion.
